Join us for our first Fundraising performance of Tswalo/Source at THE PLAT4ORM in Newtown as we prepare for our trip to Cape Town Alexander Bar theatre in June. This work is produced under The Movement RSA incubation program, which is specifically dedicated to the development of new work, as well as raising funds to stage productions in and outside of Joburg.

Lyrical prose, poetry and physical storytelling entwine to interrogate the rules that govern life on earth, those such as power, creation, truth, connection, intuition – the performers’ expression of his ‘source’.

In March 2016, three of the members of The Movement RSA, Mahlatsi Mokgonyana, Billy Langa and Mlindeli Zondi, took part in the Festival of Fame – a week long theatrical festival which is hosted by Assitej SA and the National School of Arts.
Mlindeli starred as Madiba in ‘Making Mandela’, which was recently nominated for several Naledi Awards. And all three gentlemen starred in ‘Sex and Me’, an educational play directed by Craig Morris and Clara Vaughan which is aimed at teenagers to address issues around sex and sexual identity.
Well done to all!
See poster for ‘Sex and Me’ below, as well as a link to the trailer for ‘Making Mandela’.
In January 2016, Founders of The Movement RSA, Mahlatsi Mokgonyana and Billy Langa, starred in ‘Egoli’ at the Market Theatre. This experimental show, directed by Phala Ookeditse Phala, pushed the theatrical boundaries and audiences out of their comfort zone. The Movement RSA Team are proud of Billy and Mahlatsi for their astonishing performances, and for being a part of this innovative work.
